Karamba Casino is one of the oldest and most established brands in the industry, having launched back in 2005.

Karamba's parent company Aspire Global has become an institute amongst online casino platforms. This also means that when you hear the name Aspire, you may already know exactly what you are in for.

With over 1,000+ gaming options, you can find more than just slot games. Karamba also has sports betting, live dealer games, scratchcards and more.

Unofortunately, for a long-established casino, I think Karamba is in need of a well overdue update so it can compete with the big boys. Karamba has felt like the same thing for ages now. It was nice when it came out, but casinos do need to evolve.

The Aspire platform has seen some updates over they years, which have made playing on them much, much nicer. That being said, the visual theme and the grey appearance does still feel dated.

Thankfully, I found the sign-up process nice and simple with a speedy 2-step form requiring all the usual personal details. I was asked to create a username which felt a bit old school and verify my email address. In the email, the verify button was below a regular button to visit the site which is pretty dumb.

Once I'd signed in, I was prompted to make my first deposit. It felt a bit odd that this wasn't part of the actual sign up process, and it makes it easier to miss the welcome bonus offer.

In short, Karamba is an old-school casino that runs like a train. Nothing is broken, so there has been no needs to fix it yet. Though, I do hope they at least spruce the site up at some point.

Karamba first deposit bonus

Karamba's first deposit offer is a classic deal. They have had the same offer for ages.

New UK customers only, 18+. £10 minimum deposit for first welcome offer. £20 minimum deposit to claim free spins offers on day 2 and day 3. Bonuses are subject to a 35x wagering requirement. Full terms and Bonus terms apply. BeGambleAware.org.

Sign up today and make a deposit to receive the following:

  • Day 1: Receive a 100% match bonus up to £50 + 20 spins
  • Day 2: Get 40 extra spins (Minimum £20 deposit applies)
  • Day 3: Get 40 extra spins + extra bonus surprise

In order to get started, you need to follow the following steps:

  • Sign up for an account at Karamba Casino
  • Make a minimum deposit of £10 to claim your first deposit bonus
  • Make a minimum deposit of £20 to claim your second and third deposit bonus.

Karamba's bonus deal is pretty modest on the cash side with a 100% match up to just £50, but I like the fact that there are some spins included. The 100 bonus spins are spread over your first 3 deposits so they will require another two £20 deposits to bag the full benefit. This makes it an attractive offer, but I would have liked to see the spins given all at once. I don't think that having to make deposits 3 days in a row will suit most players.

The wagering requirements are bang on the industry average of 35x (B) on both the spins and cash bonus. The real downside here is the very long list of games I found buried in the T&Cs which contribute 50% or worse to the wagering requirements. You'll want to do your research well before taking on this bonus.

I found Karamba easy enough to navigate, and everything is well-arranged games wise. The main sticking point for me is the massive scrolling banner on the desktop site. This made it hard to see if you had actually switched between games categories when clicking on the main menu.

As a casino that's been around for so long, I was a little disappointed the games selection here is just over 1,000 titles. All the well-played titles were present and correct though. There's even the odd exclusive game, such as Friendly Fruits, but I was pretty underwhelmed with the choice.

Having a rummage around the slots lobby, I had a short session on Fortune Pig. The game seemed a bit clunky and I had to click some buttons twice. With no option to make it full screen on a desktop, the game looks cramped and frustrating to play. Next, I tried some Fire Joker. Again, the game did lag a little bit, even over a stable WiFi connection.

This is due to the peak hours I was playing on, and the server load was heavy. I did later go back and try again at different hour, and then the games were notably smoother.

I switched over to the Live Casino lobby for a few rounds of Lightning Roulette and Football Studio which both worked smoothly. It was annoying that clicking on the live casino game thumbnails just leads into the evolution lobby and not the actual game.

Desktop game information

  • Games 1250
  • Slots 1100
  • Table games 50
  • Jackpot games 15

Players looking to enjoy table games in an authentic casino setting are in luck. Karamba's live dealer section is brimming by top player favourites, including table game classics and modern titles.

You can enjoy games such as Live Blackjack, Live Roulette, Live Baccarat, Lightning Roulette and Dream Catcher.

Just as you would expect, you can chat with other players as well as the croupier as you play along.

Live game information

  • Total number of live casino games 130

There are no mobile casino apps for you to download if you want to play on the go. Simply input the address of the casino into your smartphone's or tablet's web browser to get started.

Enter a world of exciting casino games, anytime and anywhere you want. Availability of the games depends on your country of residence! I found that logging in on mobile caused me to be kicked out of the desktop site for security reasons. It's fair enough, but there was no warning about it happening.

The site was a bit clunky loading between screens just like on desktop, but the actual games worked smoothly. The layout is better on mobile as the banner isn't as intrusive. The look and feel seem very dated to me when compared to many of the big casino brands around right now.

Karamba accepts a variety of banking methods, depending on your country of residence. You can make deposits by using Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, online banking, Trustly and PaysafeCard.

I found that dropping in a £40 deposit at Karamba using the desktop site was pretty straightforward. No limits were shown, just pre-set options of £40, £60 and £80 with the option to enter amounts manually. If I tried to enter anything below the £10 minimum deposit, a message did show up below the box.

The 2.5% fee was a real kick in the pants, however. The charge was clearly displayed and added to my total deposit before clicking the button to top up my casino bankroll. It just felt like a steep fee to be charging on all deposits and really put me off before I'd made a single spin.

It was equally simple for me to make a withdrawal by clicking on ‘Cashout' in the main menu. However, it took almost two days for Karamba to approve my withdrawal using a Visa Debit card, just an hour shy of the stated 48 hours maximum time. This is the longest approval wait I've encountered in a long time and it felt very frustrating.

It took extra 2 days until the funds hit my personal bank account. Not the the worst, but getting there.

At Karamba, the casino believes in ‘C.A.R.E' – Customers are Really Everything. They have a team of professional customer support agents ready to answer your questions between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily.

You can get in touch as follows:

  • Live Chat
  • By Email

It took the Karamba team around 3 minutes to pick up my live chat message. The frustrating thing was lack of any indication on when I'd get a response; it just said they would be with me shortly. The chat system is powered by a 3rd party and doesn't look like it's part of the site. In fact, it's a much nicer design and even features a list of FAQs to explore before contacting anyone.

My email asking about Skrill payments got a pretty speedy reply in under 3 hours, so I was pleased with that. All messages were polite and to the point, I couldn't ask for anything more here from Karamba.

There is a dedicated FAQs page found under ‘Getting Started' in the main menu. This is pretty comprehensive and smacks of a long-established casino.

Karamba is obliged to know their customers due to UK regulations. When information cannot be verified automatically, the casino would require players to submit proof of their identity:

  • Proof of ID (passport, driving license, ID card)
  • Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, official government letter)
  • Proof of Payment Method

I found the document ‘Upload Document' section under the ‘Account Settings' section of the main account menu on mobile. Confusingly, it's in a slightly different place on the desktop site but still easy to find. Here, I could upload up to 6 documents if I need to.

Karamba is committed to supporting a Responsible Gaming environment. They are dedicated to supporting their players who might be vulnerable to problem gaming.

To ensure you have enjoyable gaming experience and to help you stay in control, Karamba has created the following tools to help you gamble responsibly:

  • Deposit Limits
  • Time Out Period
  • Self-Exclusion
  • Reality Checks

It's recommended to utilize blocking tools, such as Net Nanny, Gamlock and Betfilter to stop you accessing gaming sites.

If you require further assistance, please get in touch with Karamba's customer support team, which will be able to connect you with relevant charities and organisations.

If you feel that you are struggling to stay in control of your gambling, it is strongly recommend getting in touch with BeGambleAware, Gamblers Anonymous and GamCare.
